Areas within the NextStep web site use online forms to collect information regarding site users. All information collected by the site is governed by the Data Protection Act 1998 and as a result is only used by relevant members of staff within the Centres. The nature of the information and the area of the site that it is obtained from will determine who will have access to it.

All other information gathered may be accessed by members of the Centre's administration department. This type of information is generally collected for marketing purposes so that additional information or site updates can be sent out to interested parties.

Only relevant information is gathered by the NextStep web site and is applicable to the part of the site from which the information was gathered. This information will always consist of basic contact details such as full name, address, telephone number and email address. However some areas of the site do require more information to be given: these areas will include instructions where appropriate. NextStep will not sell or pass on any personal information gathered by the NextStep web site to third parties unless permission is given by the information provider (site user). Any part of the NextStep web site that is used to collect data, that may involve sharing of the information with other parties will include an appropriate warning and will also provide a facility to opt out of this information sharing.
